A small, dedicated team with a clear mission: to provide Japanese readers with information they can genuinely trust — presented with clarity, care, and respect.
Green Resource Plant was founded in 2012 by a small group of editors, researchers, and designers who shared a concern: that truly useful, carefully verified information was becoming harder to find amid the noise of the digital age.
We began with a simple proposition — to create a platform that treated its readers with the same respect one would offer a trusted friend seeking advice. No sensationalism. No misdirection. Only content that was researched, reviewed, and genuinely useful.
Over fourteen years, we have grown from a modest newsletter to a full-scale information platform, publishing articles and resources across dozens of categories relevant to contemporary Japanese life. Our reader base has grown organically, built almost entirely through word of mouth — which we consider our most valued endorsement.
Our office is located in the Ueno district of Tokyo, a neighborhood that itself embodies the balance of history and modernity that we strive to reflect in our work.
These principles guide every article, resource, and communication we produce.
We verify every claim before publication. Our editorial team traces sources to their origin and welcomes correction when readers identify inaccuracies.
We believe complex ideas can be communicated clearly without losing depth. Our writing aims to be accessible to any motivated reader.
We write as if speaking to a respected colleague — politely, without condescension, and always with the reader's dignity in mind.
We are deeply aware of the nuances of Japanese culture and society. Our content reflects this understanding with care and appropriate context.
Our editorial decisions are made without commercial interference. We do not accept payment for coverage and disclose all partnerships transparently.
We update older content to reflect new information, and we actively seek feedback from our readers to improve what we offer.
A small, experienced team committed to quality over quantity.
